Million Dollars Raised for Prostate Cancer Support, Research, and Awareness
FROM THE BEGINNING
Since the beginning, Trev Deeley's has been an integral part of the Westcoast Motorcycle Ride to Live.
The relationship started over 10 years ago when the Ride to Live was just an idea. Collaborating with Trev Deeley's brought a new look to raising funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer.
The dedication, support and enthusiasm that Trev Deeley's has given us has been more than we could have imagined. With their help we have been able to grow the Ride To Live to what it is today.
Over 700 motorcycle enthusiasts come out each year to support not only this great cause, but to be a part of this amazing community, thanks to the support of Trev Deeley Motorcycles.
Over the years Honda has contributed countless hours to this event and has helped grow our community of dedicated motorcyclists and volunteers supporting the fight against prostate cancer.
With Honda’s support, the Westcoast Motorcycle Ride to Live has raised over $1.6 million that has supported research grants and prostate cancer support groups across the province.
RIDE TO LIVE
by Roy Henry Vickers
A few years back a very good friend of mine took a picture of my Harley's windshield at a sunset in Tofino. I was standing close by admiring yet another of those magical moments on the West Coast. The design on my windshield is an eagle and I used to love riding that Harley Davidson motorcycle. During the ride I'd watch the light as it shone through my plexiglass and as the light changed so did the frosted eagle on the the windshield. I let the bike go many years ago when I moved to Northern BC. The years have flown by and I've lost some dear ones to prostate cancer and it has brought about awareness that we men are reluctant to get check and to speak about this cancer. I met some great folks who have an organization called Ride TO Live and I have become a supporter of this organization ever since.
The eagle represents the vision of those who see a need to educate the world about prostate cancer. I am proud to associate with the Ride To Live and honored to do my part in helping the world around me to live a better life helping others to save lives.
